Merlin needs, NEEDS, to tell someone else about his secret because Lancelot and Freya are both gone. I am really, REALLY, hoping that it is Gwaine. Because Gwaine has proven himself a good enough friend of Merlin’s to face death with him. And Gwaine is the least likely to then draw his sword on Merlin after the secret is out. Actually, if Merlin is ever caught and thrown in the dungeons to be executed, Gwaine would definitely help Merlin escape. Gwaine is that kind of friend. Unfortunately, Arthur is too stubborn to fill that role.
